Quick Look: Evaluation Style Questions

Evaluation questions can be the most challenging questions you face on your CBAP or CCBA certification exam. Evaluation questions expect you to assess ideas and make reasoned judgments in order to arrive at the correct or best answer. This information you are using to think through this question may be straight from the BABOK® Guide, or it may be something you have learned from another source or your own experience as a business analyst. Here is an example of an evaluation question:
To document why your project was initiated, it is appropriate to include the:
   A. Business case
   B. Project mandate
   C. Solution approach
   D. Business goals
The correct answer to this question is A. This is a “reasoned judgment” style of question based upon what you know and the fact that you understand what is required in this particular situation. Typical business analysis documents used to initiate a project are created in the Enterprise Analysis knowledge area, and include the business case, required capabilities, solution scope and business need.
As always, happy studies!
